RIVCHPP IS MAKING CONCERTED EFFORTS TO CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN WORKFORCE CAPACITY AND IMPROVE SERVICE DELIVERY.

Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) says it is making concerted efforts to continue to improve its workforce in order to improve its service delivery.

The assertions were part of far-reaching resolutions taken by the management team of the state health insurance agency during its June,  2026 monthly meeting,  which held in the office of the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive, Officer, Dr. Vetty Agala, on Thursday,  4th June 2026.

It was resolved that the management team would be part of the maiden edition of the National summit for state social health insurance agencies (SSHIA) slated to hold in Akure, Ondo State, from 8th - 9th June,  2026.

Also in the agency's efforts for improved service delivery,  RIVCHPP has concluded arrangements to have some of its staff and team members undergo a study tour of Delta State health insurance agency,  which is one of the best state health insurance agencies in the federation.

In the course of the meeting,  RIVCHPP's management also resolved that the agency and its service providers will continue to make digital and electronic means for reporting of activities and data collection to avert errors associated with hardcopy paperwork.

The management meeting of RIVCHPP also resolved that staff and team members will be renumerated based on performance,  while those found wanting will be shown the exit door in order to discourage insolence and loitering.

The meeting encouraged the various heads of departments of the agency to do more to see that those working in their departments perform optimally, noting that team members without clear-cut job specifications may be dropped in the agency's stance of downsizing its workforce, while team members are encouraged to route their requests and reports through their various heads of departments.

The meeting resolved that the policy changes will be effective from the beginning of July, while the responsible heads of departments were enjoined to properly intimate their subordinates and affected staff early enough to enable them to  prepare to the new policies.

The meeting featured prayers for the government and people of the state, even as they prayed for the peace and security of the nation,  Nigeria.
