JulyThe Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), Dr. Vetty Agala, participated in the Rivers State Primary Health Care (PHC) Task Force 2026 Second Quarter Review Meeting, held at the Rivers State Government House, Porthacourt on Monday, 20th, July , 2026, reaffirming the Programme's commitment to achieving universal health coverage in the State.
Dr. Agala reiterated RIVCHPP's resolve to continue supporting initiatives that enhance access to affordable healthcare services through strategic partnerships and effective implementation of the State's health insurance programme.
The quarterly review meeting was presided by the chairman of the state task force on primary healthcare and Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Prof. Mrs.Ngozi Nma Odu.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders in the state health sector to assess the performance of primary healthcare services, identify existing challenges, and develop strategies to improve service delivery across Rivers State.
Prof.Odu commended members of the task force for their commitment to strengthening primary healthcare delivery across the state and further seeks greater efficiency.
Speaking during the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of collaboration among government agencies, development partners, and healthcare providers in advancing quality, accessible, and people-centered healthcare for all residents.
