AugustThe Executive Secretary of Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), Dr. Vetty Agala has charged healthcare facilities providing services for the health insurance agency to work assiduously and collaboratively with the agency in ensuring that Governor Siminialayi Fubara's mandate on health is achieved.
Dr. Agala, who made the call in her office on Wednesday, 5th August, 2026, when the management team of Metrocare Specialist Hospital, Amadi Ama, Port Harcourt, said that RIVCHPP will continue to appreciate the Governor for his vision and strategic leadership in directing that all Rivers residents have access to healthcare when they need it without breaking the banks.
RIVCHPP's Executive Secretary informed the health providers to always remain conscious of the fact that health insurance is about numbers and strategic purchase of care, proposing for improved quality of care and communications.
Earlier in an address, the Medical Director of Metrocare Specialist Hospital, Dr. Romsan Dressman commended the Executive Secretary and the state government for the visionary commitment in the establishment and success of RIVCHPP.
Dr. Dressman said that RIVCHPP has become a very vital and strong platform for accessing affordable quality healthcare for the people of Rivers State, particularly the vulnerable and the underserved.
The Medical Director of Metrocare stated that his organisation is honoured to be accredited to provide primary and secondary healthcare services for RIVCHPP's enrollees, saying that Metrocare is fully committed to providing patient-centred healthcare for RIVCHPP's enrollees.
Dr. Dressman, who said that RIVCHPP's partnership with various health facilities has saved lives and restored hopes to many families, affirming that, from his interactions with many of RIVCHPP's enrollees, he can confidently say that RIVCHPP is widely accepted and appreciated.
The visit featured interactive brainstorming of the two organisations on the way forward in their common partnership.
