RIVCHPP TO PARTNER GROUPS THAT WORK TOWARDS IMPROVING THE HEALTH OF RIVERS RESIDENTS.

The Executive Secretary/ Chief Executive Officer of Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme, Dr. Vetty Agala has said that RIVCHPP is saddled with the role of ensuring that Rivers residents have access to healthcare services without paying from their pockets or becoming financially poorer as a result of health needs.

Dr. Agala, who made the statement in her office when she received in audience leaders of Nigerian Medical Students Association (NiMSA), Rivers State University chapter, made it clear that the agency only supports and partners groups or organisations whose objectives allign with the agency's visions and missions.

The Executive Secretary said that holding of NiMSA's national conference in the state is a viable project that will give RIVCHPP visibility, assuring the association of the agency's interest to partner and support the conference hosting.

Dr. Agala also informed the students' association that the agency has reached advance stage in its bid to have students of Rivers State University (RSU), especially the medical students, to be enrolled into its programmes and packages.

Earlier in a statement, the Director, Standing Committee on Public  (SCOPH) of the association, Osaro-Chikere Confidence, said that they are at RIVCHPP's office to solicit the support of the agency towards the hosting of NiMSA's national conference in the state, commending Dr. Agala for her dexterity and interest in bringing healthcare services to the doorsteps of all Rivers residents.

In a similar visit, leaders of Mother of Good Counsel Initiative (MOGCI) has commended Dr.Agala for her interest in advocating for the safe reproductive health of Nigerians, nominating her to be the face of the initiative, as the non-governmental organisations joins others in celebrating the 2026 International Girl-Child day in Port Harcourt.

The Executive Director of the Initiative, Lady Doris Oyeneke, who said that her organisation would be celebrating 15 years of its existence, thanked Dr. Agala for her support all of these years.

In her response, Dr. Agala commended the organisation for holding on all these years, consistently helping to improve sexual reproductive health of the state, urging them to plan a summit that will be beneficial to the people of the state.

The Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP then assured the organisation of the willingness of the agency to support the planned summit.

The visit featured the presentation of promotional materials by the organisation to Dr. Agala.
