Advocacy visit to Director, Catholic Diocese Education Board
In furtherance to stakeholder engagement to expand health insurance coverage for the informal sector, the Ag Executive Secretary, Dr Vetty Agala and members of RIVCHPP management team paid an advocacy visit to Rev Fr Magnus Anyanugo, the Director Catholic Diocese Education Board. Dr Agala introduced the RIVCHPP mandate of affordable and accessible healthcare for all Rivers residents by the administration of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS.
She informed the Board of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF) available for vulnerable populations and the informal sector which can provide access to staff and families of the schools under the education board. She enjoined the director and board members to enroll their staff into the progamme.
In his response, Rev Fr Anyanugo commended the Governor, commissioner for Health and ES for all the efforts in ensuring quality and affordable healthcare for all and assured her that the need for and importance of enrolling in the health insurance scheme be conveyed to all members of staff under the Catholic Diocese Education Board. Also present at the visit was Sir Francis Ugwuorah, member of the board in charge of secondary schools.
