What is premium to be paid?
A premium is an agreed amount to be paid in advance to nominal value of something (to be able to access healthcare value within a period that might be worth more than the amount paid).
What types of healthcare services are covered by RIVCHPP?
RIVCHPP offers coverage for a wide range of healthcare services, including preventive care, hospitalization, specialized treatments, and more. The goal is to provide comprehensive coverage that addresses the various medical needs of the enrolled population.
Who is eligible to enroll in RIVCHPP?
Enrollment in RIVCHPP is open to residents of Rivers State, Nigeria. This includes individuals, families, and businesses looking to access quality healthcare services. The program aims to be inclusive, catering to the healthcare needs of a diverse population.
What is RIVCHPP?
Rivers state contributory health protection progamme is the social health insurance scheme of the rivers state government where healthcare services for beneficiaries are paid from the common pool of funds.
How can I get enrolled?
You can go to any facility in the RIVCHPP programme or you can call the RIVCHPP care lines.
How soon after registration/enrollment can I access care?
Sixty days after enrolment.
How often can an enrollee access healthcare?
Twice a month, except in emergencies
Does the program cover all kinds of disease?
It covers most of the common diseases in our environment however, some diseases are in the exclusion list
If I get sick outside my primary station, how do I access care?
At the RIVCHPP accredited health facility close to you in cases of emergencies.
Am I required to pay anything at the point of service?
No, if you are on the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF) plan.
What happens if my case cannot be handled at my chosen facility?
The facility would get authorization from RIVCHPP office and refer to the most appropriate secondary facility.
Can I request for a particular investigation or drug at the hospital?
RIVCHPP relies on the judgement of the healthcare providers. Our drugs are effective though generic
When would I need a preauthorization code?
When I need to be referred to a secondary facility.
What do I do when I’m told to buy drugs by either the doctor or pharmacist?
Call RIVCHPP care line. You only get to pay 15% of the total cost of your drugs.
Can I change from my chosen facility?
Yes, but after 6months of the using the previous facility.
What do I do when I am not satisfied with the services of the provider?
After every service you receive from your selected healthcare provider, there will be an assessment form to evaluate the quality of care you received. There will also be complaint lines you can call in to report your encounter with your healthcare provider.
