Office Opening
It's OFFICIAL!!! We are excited to announce that yesterday, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Rivers State, Dr Adaeze Oreh, officially opened the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) office. Kudos to Ag. ES, Dr Vetty Agala and everyone who worked hard to make this event possible.
Dr Adaeze Oreh who commended His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara for his commitment to ensuring quality healthcare in the state, said it was a significant moment for her as the first memo she received from H.E. was on RIVCHPP. She revealed that out-of-pocket payment for health is high in Rivers State, and she is assured that RIVCHPP will enable prompt access to healthcare, leaving no one behind.
Dr Vetty Agala lauded His Excellency for making it possible for the state to join other states with Health Insurance Programmes to achieve #UHC. She emphasized the programme's aim to remove financial barriers towards health access, particularly for the vulnerable population.
