MarchThe Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) actively participated in the 2025 Port Harcourt Afrihealth Conferences and Exhibitions, organized by Afrihealth Development Foundation Nigeria. The event took place from March 19th to 21st at the prestigious Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt, bringing together key stakeholders in the healthcare sector to discuss advancements and challenges in healthcare delivery.
As part of its engagement, RIVCHPP set up a dedicated booth, providing attendees with firsthand information on the state’s health insurance scheme. The booth facilitated on-site enrollment, allowing individuals to register for the scheme with ease. Additionally, the RIVCHPP team conducted extensive awareness campaigns, distributing informative flyers and engaging participants in discussions on the benefits of contributory health protection.
A key highlight of RIVCHPP’s participation was an insightful address delivered by the Executive Secretary, Dr. Vetty Agala. In her speech, Dr. Agala reaffirmed RIVCHPP’s mission to ensure accessible and affordable healthcare for all residents of Rivers State. She emphasized the critical role of health insurance in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and encouraged attendees to take advantage of the scheme for their healthcare needs.

By actively engaging with the public and stakeholders, RIVCHPP continues to drive efforts toward a healthier and more inclusive healthcare system in Rivers State.
