RIVCHPP AGGRESSIVELY CARRYING OUT AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS TO ENROL RIVERS RESIDENTS.

Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), the state social health insurance agency, is aggressively embarking on awareness campaigns to see to it that Rivers residents become aware of the agency and the roles it plays.

RIVCHPP, in collaboration with Health, Environment, and You (HEY), and Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), was at Obio/Akpor International market on SARS Road on Saturday, 19th, while its officials were at the popular Oil Mill market, today, 21st September, 2026, to sensitise and enrol the people into the state health insurance programme.

During the sensitization campaigns, vital health statistics of traders were checked, traders and their wards enrolled, and promotional items from RIVCHPP distributed freely to traders, including a 70 year old woman, in the various markets.

The Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, Dr. Vetty Agala, represented by Kingsford Ngini, Head, Business Development and Marketing (BDM) of RIVCHPP, said it will be a disservice to the state if residents do not maximise this opportunity of access to quality healthcare service.

Dr. Agala assured that the agency would continue to embark upon several of such campaigns and outreaches in all parts of the state, calling upon those who are already beneficiaries to always make  use  of the  health facilities they are assigned to, whenever they need healthcare services, promising that her agency is ready and willing to have more health providers accredited.

The campaigns, which is targeted at promoting better healthcare and a cleaner Rivers State, featured enrolment of residents into RIVCHPP programmes, health sensitisation, and  giving out of free market umbrellas, recharge cards, and data subscriptions to the traders.
